# SEVEN COOKIES INSTRUCTIONS

The object of this game is to make seven whole cookies by rearranging the fractional parts of other whole cookies.

Press the <Start> button to display pieces of cookies. Displayed will be enough fractional pieces to make seven whole cookies.

Possible pieces are:

2 halves, 3 thirds, 4 fourths. 5 fifths, 6 sixths, 8 eighths, 9 ninths, 10 tenths, 12 twelfths, and 15 fifteenths

Only seven of these ten groups will be displayed. Six of the first eight groups and one of the last two groups will be chosen at random to make it likely that you will have a different example when pressing the <START> or the <NEW EXAMPLE> button.

Press the <RENEW> button if you wish to do the same example over. The minutes, seconds, and the number of cookies will be reset back to to 0.

The timer starts after you drag the first piece onto the empty circle so it would be a good idea to plan your strategy before you start dragging. The timer stops when all the pieces are gone.

There are two rules to follow;:

(1) You cannot make a cookie from all of one fraction. For example, If you chose four fifths you would be unable to slide the fifth 1/5 onto the cookie circle. Grampy will say "Cannot take 1/5".

In that case you could choose three 1/15 pieces.

(2) You cannot slide over a fraction that is too large. For example, If you had 2/3 cookie you would be unable to slide 1/2 onto the cookie circle. Grampy will say "1/2 is too large".

In that case you could choose three 1/9 pieces or five 1/15 pieces.

When all the cookie pieces are used up you may press the <NEW EXAMPLE> button to display a new and different batch of cookie pieces. The minutes, seconds, and the number of cookies will be back to to 0.

Hint: If you are given 5ths pieces try to combine them with tenths or fifteenths to make whole cookies. If you are given 3rds pieces try to combine them with sixths, ninths, or twelfths to make whole cookies..

To move fast, take a denominator that has 2 as a factor such as 8ths and make 1/2. Then take another denominator that has 2 as a factor such as 12ths to make the other 1/2 for a whole cookie.

Press the <Report> button to make a report card. This button will open a dialog that asks you to submit your name. You may prefer to submit a code for your name. The <Send> key on the dialog box will open a new browser window with your printable report card.

The Cookies Per Minute score is the average number of times a complete cookie is made in one minute. Try to achieve a score of 2 cookies per minute or better.
